ITINERARY


At the Bhubaneshwar airport or at Puri station , a TCI executive will be there to welcome & receive you and then will drive you directly to your beachfront* hotel in Puri. Check in at your hotel and refresh overnight. We recommend you may spend the evening enjoying the local cuisine or dishes and visit the beachfront to indulge in the breeze coming across the sea and rejuvenate yourself.

Today after an early breakfast, we will vist the the temple of Jagannatha which is one of the tallest monuments in the entire. sub-continent of India stands on a ‘raised platform of stone, measuring about ten acres. The temple structure is full of excellent carvings and lovely pieces of sculpture and is a fine specimen of Kalinga style of architecture. After darshan, we will proceed for Konark, The Konark temple is widely known not only for its architectural grandeur but also for the intricacy and profusion of sculptural work. The entire temple has been conceived as a chariot of the sun god with 24 wheels, each about 10 feet in diameter, with a set of spokes and elaborate carvings. Seven horses drag the temple. Two lions guard the entrance, crushing elephants. A flight of steps lead to the main entrance. We will also visit the Chandrabhaga beach in Konark if time allows, afterwards, we will drive back to Puri and rest overnight at hotel.

Today post breakfast, we will depart for a fun day to Chilika lake. Chilka is Asia’s biggest internal salt water pond studded with few tiny islands including the most charming Honeymoon Island and the Breakfast Island. This pear shaped lake, separated from the Bay of Bengal; also imbibes one of the most supportive ecosystem in the name of Chilka Lake Sanctuary in the region. With a wide range of flora, fauna and aquatic faunas, observed in and around the brackish water of the lake. Enjoy optional boating at the lake which is highly recommended so that you can spot dolphins if you get lucky and also may get to see red crabs. Enjoy the best part of seeing the migratory birds if season is in your favor. Refresh overnight at the Puri beachfront resort.

Today we will do some amazing local sightseeing and will start off by checking out of our beachfront resort and will drive directly to the Nandan Kanan zoo. The name that literally means the “Garden of Pleasure” is the most picturesque park to bring an opportunity to discover unique flora and fauna flourishing in their most natural habitat. The excursion now offers a tiger safari, a bear safari, botanical gardens and walk in aviary where you can step into the world of birds. We will drive next to partly natural and partly artificial caves of archaeological, historical and religious importance. The caves are located on two hills Udayagiri and Khandagiri. We will also visit the Ram mandir here and will then drive back to the hotel for an evening at leisure.

A day of spiritualism and worship waits as we will also see some amazing architectural masterpieces from the times of the Kalinga, we will visit the majestic Lingaraja Temple which is the largest and most popular in Bhubaneswar. The splendid temple stands tall at 180 feet, and exhibits breath-taking sculptures of kings and queens, gods and goddesses, hunters, dancing girls, and musician. This will be followed by the Mukteshara and the Raja Rani temples before moving on to the Dhauli hills. The overall structure of the stupa is in the shape of a dome. One can spot the Buddha footprints as well as the Bodhi tree over the stone panels. Over the panels, one also spots the image of Ashoka who keeps his sword of war in front of Lord Buddha suggesting that he had given up the idea of war completely. In the vicinity of this stupa, there lays a monastery named as the Saddharma Vihar Monastery, which is much visited by the Buddhist devotees. Evening will be at leisure at the hotel.

All good things have to come to an end but not before you grab a good breakfast at the resort before checking out as our representative will be waiting at the lobby for you with your private car to assist you well in time to drive you to the railway station to board your return train.
