At the Colombo Airport, TCI representative will be waiting for you with your private car who will then drive you directly to your hotel where you can C/I and refresh. Later in the day, we will pick you up from your hotel to explore Sri Lanka’s capital where you can see Colombo old and new having an architectural legacy that has made it one of the most attractive cities in South Asia. Discover the top sights and attractions such as the Gangaramaya Temple and the famous Pettah market. Visit historic landmarks such as the Pettah Dutch Bell Tower at the Kaiman Gate. Head to the historic district of Slave Island, admire the famous Hindu temple dedicated to the Lord Ganesh, see the stunning Gangaramaya Buddhist temple, which, like the city itself, blends old and new. Admire the banks of Buddhas and stupas, all perfectly in line. See the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, a gift to Sri Lanka from the People’s Republic of China. There is also the option to visit the House of Fashion and the Premadasa Jewellery and Arts Centre, and the National Museum. We will then return to the hotel where you can refresh overnight.

After a sumptuous breakfast, take a lifetime experience tour to Kandy, the cultural hub of Srilanka and a World Heritage Site which was also the last capital of the Sinhalese Kings’ era of Sri Lanka. Many of the legends, traditions and folklores are still lovingly kept alive. We will first visit the Elephant feeding at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Here you get a chance to get real close to a large herd of elephants, follow them down to the river where you can watch them bathe and play. After visiting Pinnawala, we will proceed to Kandy and drive around the Kandy lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, a major highlight. The Temple of Tooth or Sri Dalada Maligawa is a temple built within the royal palace complex which houses the only surviving relic of Buddha. Also visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Our last visit will be the Royal Botanical garden before returning to your hotel in Colombo. Rest of the evening will be yours to explore.

Today, post breakfast, C/O from your resort and we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Bentota. After arrival, C/I at your resort in Bentota which is blessed with one of Sri Lanka’s most impressive beach offerings. A long, broad belt of pristine sand is set against a gorgeous green backdrop, dotted with coconut trees. Waves can climb high here, too, making it the perfect spot for surfers. The lack of souvenir shops and hawkers you might find elsewhere only adds to its appeal. It is also home to some stunning natural beauty. Alternatively, even if you aren’t a water baby, Bentota will make you fall in love with at least the basic water sports that need no swimming training. This will be a day at leisure in the resort or you may even wish to visit nearby beaches on your own. TCI’s experts will assist in providing various options for you to plan this day, be it an optional or additional tour or any recommended activities for the day. Regardless, whatever you choose to do today, you are bound to have a wonderful day in the beautiful island country of Bentota.

Today post a sumptuous breakfast, get ready for an adventurous experience whilst riding by boat to a river island, the small town of Balapitiya to see the wonders of the Maduganga River. Cruise through this wetland and admire the imposing mangroves and variety of ecosystems with native flora and fauna, witness the master craftsman chiseling away pieces of wood to bring out masks , in Ambalangoda there after visit the majestic Galle Fort. An important piece of history from the period of Dutch rule, the Galle Fort is one of the best preserved examples of 17th century coastal fortifications that can be found anywhere in the world. Also located here is the National Maritime Museum of Galle offers visitors a diverse array of flora and fauna related exhibits as well as various models of whales, fish and other marine life.

Today, we shall visit the Turtle Hatchery, a must-visit for the nature lovers. The Turtle Hatchery is the prime turtle nesting site, established as an attempt to protect Sri Lanka’s marine turtles from extinction. Here, you would see huge tanks filled with new born turtle hatchlings. After being fed and taken care of for about 2-4 years, these little creatures are released into the sea. It would be an entirely new experience to watch closely different species of this marine creature, while also being able to hold them and getting photographed. We shall then return to Bentota resort where you can spend the evening at leisure.

Today after breakfast, the first half of the day will be at leisure*(for late flights in the day) in which TCI’s experts will recommend you how to make the most out of your time. As we know that all great journeys have to come to an end so we will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the Colombo airport from where you can board your return flight.
