ITINERARY


At the Cochin international Airport, TCI executive will be there to welcome & receive you.  From the airport, we will drive you on a scenic road directly to Munnar which takes and enjoy sightseeing on the way as we visit Cheyyapara waterfalls and Attukal waterfalls (time permitting during day hours only as per flight schedule). After your arrival in Munnar, you may Check in and refresh at the resort and enjoy your evening at this beautiful destination.

Today after a lovely breakfast, we will proceed to see some special places in Munnar and around.  We will start the day with the magnificent Eravikulam National Park where the endangered Nilgiri Tahr is conserved.  “Unique terrain, Interesting Fauna and Scenic Flora makes this the one of the most sought after destinations of the south. Next will be a visit to the Kannan devi tea museum. Visitors and tea lovers can see various stages of the tea processing here. The museum dates back to the 1880’s. A section of the museum also houses classic bungalow furniture and office equipment of the Colonial area in Kerala. We will then proceed to the Mattupetty Dam where you can enjoy optional boating, visit the photo point if time allows and which is surrounded with woods and has a small stream that make for a picture perfect location. Later we drive you back to your resort for overnight stay after a wonderful day amongst nature and wildlife.

Today, after breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and drive to the amazing Konukummalai tea estates. Across the border in Tamil Nadu, lies this lesser-known plantation heaven, the glorious tea estate of Kolukkumalai, perched at 8,100ft above sea level and arguably the highest tea plantation in the world. The tea estate was set up by the British back in the 1930s. Its tea factory still uses the original equipment, and processes its tea the old-fashioned. Visitors at the factory can pick and process their own cuppa in the “Make Your Tea” program. We will then return to the resort where you can refresh overnight.

Today after breakfast check out your hotel and drive towards Thekkady, the wildlife destination of Kerala. It’s also known as the spice bag of the state. You can enjoy a beautiful journey through the hills and valleys of Wastern Ghat to reach this jungle destination. Check into your themed resort amongst the forests and later this evening, we will take you for the Kalari show, the martial art which is performed in kuzhikalari. A highly designed gallery has been built in such a way that the viewers will get a clear vision from a safer distance. This will be followed by the Kathakali performance where the dancers wear large head dresses, and the contours of the face are extended with moulded lime. The extraordinary costumes and make-up serve to raise the participants above the level of mere mortals, so that they may transport the audience to a world of wonders. We will then return to the resort to have a comfortable overnight stay.

Today after breakfast, we look forward to an elephant ride for the children and family followed up with an Ayurvedic massage treatment for the adults*. Also have an amazing boat ride in Periyar Lake which flows through the Periyar tiger reserve. You will have chance to watch the wild animals like elephant, Bison, Sambar, Deer etc which are roaming both the shores. TCI can also assist in pre organizing Nature walks and special bamboo rafting at the Periyar national park. We will then return to the resort to have a relaxed evening and a comfortable overnight stay.

Today, post breakfast, we will C/O early and drive to Alleppey also known as Venice of the east by its special geographical features as the place is famous for its vast back water stretches and paddy fields. By noon we will board the private houseboat where you will receive a warm welcome and then explore the back waters and its serene beauty. Enjoy the cruise, delicious snacks, lunch and an overnight stay onboard. Optional Canoeing can also be organized with prior request. Overall you are bound to have a magical day in the backwaters of Alapuzzha.

Today, we will drive back as our representative will be waiting at the for you with your private car to assist you well in time to drive you to the airport or station in Kochi as per your preference.

TERMS

  • For Kolukummalai tea estates are in your package, if our vehicles are not allowed beyond a certain point, then clients will be provided a Jeep/Four Wheel Drive for onward track which will be provided by TCI. Any participation programs in the factory or estate are upon the discretion of the authority rules and cannot be guaranteed and do not entitle for any refund.
  • At the Kalari show and Kathakali show, children below 3 may not be given a seat on their own.
  • Thekkady Periayar boat ride and Kalari/ Kathakalli show tickets are all subject to availability at the time of confirmation and if unavailable or cancelled due to any reasons, an appropriate refund equal to the cost of such tickets will be provided to the clients however no refunds will be given for any changes to the entrance of Periyar national park due to any government regulations on the given day of your visit or any such unforeseen circumstances. Please also not that this package does not include the entrance tickets to Periyar national park.

Read all Terms..

  • During peak season and at times in Thekkady, there can be a long queue for the Boat ride in the lake, although TCI provides pre purchased vouchers to the guest beforehand, if such tickets are not available at the time of confirmation and bookings, refund for the ticket prices will be provided to the guests and guests may need to buy their own tickets for the boat ride due to regulations that need guests to provide their own ID’s while buying tickets.
  • In case your package ends in Alleppey and of an early flight back to Delhi, please note that an early check out at 7 am will be required from the houseboat and the breakfast will be served at 6.30 am in such a case for packages finishing in Alleppey.
  • Inclusions marked with * may be available with choice of one hotel and not of the other. A revised final inclusion will be sent once confirmation is received for the choice or category of hotel.
  • The package does not include any elephant ride charges and any spa treatment charges however TCI will fully assist the clients in getting this organized beforehand if needed on an additional charge.
